Before you invest in exterior
shutters know the company
Our Company
Advantage Shutters and Closets, a division of Advantage
Building Components, LLC, has been custom building exterior shutters since 1993. Our shutters
are technically correct and hand crafted to give them the historically
correct look that will enhance the look of your home. Advantage Shutters
have been used and approved for use in all historical areas where
application has been made in Middle Tennessee. In production, many
different materials have been used to build our shutters. However,
solid Western Red Cedar, known for its durability and resistance
to decay, has been our standard for years. Other materials we have
used for our exterior shutters, at our customers’ request,
are Mahogany, Spanish Cedar, Cypress, Redwood and Knotty Pine. In
addition to the custom woods we use, we are now offering a composite
shutter that will not rot or decay over time and will give you the
look of a wood shutter at a better price point.
If you live in the Middle Tennessee
area we offer complete turn key service to our customers.
The following
are the services available to our custom exterior shutters customers:
- A complimentary appointment with our prospective
customer to measure for exterior shutters, discuss options and
answer any questions the homeowner may have.
- Our local craftsmen will custom build your shutters
from your choice of materials at our factory in LaVergne.
- A custom finish can be provided at our factory for your shutters
with your choice of color or stain.
- Custom hardware of your choice
is available for your custom shutters.
- Custom installation of your
shutters, by our trained employees, is available with your choice
of hardware to hang the shutter.
There are several items that should
be considered before you invest in shutters in order to make sure
you are getting what you want.
- How long has the company been in business
and what is their principal business?
Advantage Shutters and Closets has been serving Middle Tennessee
since 1983. Our principal business is manufacturing, sales and installation
of interior and exterior custom shutters and custom closet systems.
- Where are the shutters manufactured?
Advantage
Shutters are all manufactured in our factory in LaVergne, Tennessee
by local craftsmen who are employees of our company. Most of our
production members have been associated with our company for between
10 and 15 years.
- How long will it take from the day you order your
shutters to receipt of your order?
Time can vary due to the work
load in the factory, but generally it takes about three weeks.
When you go to contract, we can give you an estimated installation
or pick up date. If shutters are damaged in freight, what is the
procedure to repair or replace the shutters?
- How long will the replacement
or repair take?
Advantage Shutters and Closets manufactures our shutters at
our factory in LaVergne. Our employees use our own trucks to deliver
and install our shutters. If damage occurs, we take the shutters
back to our shop immediately and the repairs are done and the product
is returned within days.
- Is the company insured & bonded?
Yes
- Ask for references and call them.
We gladly furnish you references
on recently finished jobs.
- Check the company out with the Better

Before giving someone a deposit you should always
check with the BBB.
- What is included in my quoted price? On an order
that we install, your material, labor and taxes are included in
your quote.
On an order that you pick up, material only is quoted
with an addition of Tn Sales Tax.
